My e-learning plan

Firstly it was such a struggle for me to start blogging.
Getting to the point, I want help my students to interpret case studies. They struggle with this area of learning.
I would like to do a podcast giving helpful hints on how to get started and then how to start analysing patient history and test results and and eventfully working through the entire case  in terms of what further tests need to be performed.
I would like to set up some case exercises and create a forum / blog to comment and ask questions

  2. Yay! I think our own struggles will help us to have insight into our student's struggles with the technology, especially those that are a bit older - I don't mean the young ones. So in the domain of continuing education (CPD)

  4. Dear Colleagues
I hope that you are all keeping well. Life is a bit overwhelming on my side.
My research is consuming me and juggling work and home is a huge a challenge. I cant believe that we are finally here at the last module of this programme. I am actually looking forward to the e-learning module. The approach to this module appears to be much more exciting and hands on.
The entire world is moving towards electronic based learning and it seems to be the most innovative way of learning as well. My organization has also started using e-learning as a tool for education. Response and support for e-learning is however poor. My expectations from this module is therefore to learn how to simply yet effectively create e-leaning based learning initiatives that are value adding, fit for purpose and encourages motivation for use.
Warm regards and good luck to you all.

    1. Hi Vanitha

I'm glad to see that you posted on your blog. Remember to make a new post though next time, and not just a comment in your original blog post.

That said, I understand the stress of the research and really hope that you and your classmates will be able to make full use of this module and the opportunities to explore technology in your environment as much as possible. Looking forward to reading your first 'official' post regarding what you are going to be analysing and how.

    2. Dear Vanitha,
Same with me in Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (Medunsa) as there is e-learning but maintenance and support are still challenging. Hope we can make a change in some ways by doing this module.

  6. Dear Vanitha,
I have read your e-learning intervention and your expectation for this module. I think that your e-learning prototype is ideal and can be done. It is an innovative way to help your students interpret case studies. I believe that the Analysis phase of the ADDIE process for this week will also give you insight to be able to identify the intensity of the need of your students when it comes to interpretation of case studies. Wishing you good luck!

  7. Vanitha,
We may be working on similar focus for this module. As I am dealing with junior students who haven't learnt any pathology, teaching them how to interpret lab results is challenging for me. Therefore, I am thinking if online chat room or discussion forum might help them. I am busy setting out the questionnaire for students now.
    What are your plans?
